PERFORMANCE & SOFTWARE
We initially had to read the instructions to setup the AUKEY 1080P IP Camera because it was not initially clear. However, an application called MIPC on the App Store requires downloading on a phone. We tested the app on iOS and were asked to create a quick account, once added we could then scan the QR code of the camera and it assigned the camera to our account. So far, so good. Once in the application you do have a very reasonable user interface and you can swipe in any direction and the camera will rotate a few seconds later. You have the option to speak through the inbuilt microphone or listen should you chose, the option is available. This may be helpful for shops and stores or to act as a baby monitor.
Pan and tilt; whether its a quirk or not actually works. This can be controlled by using the application and swiping the image or the directional buttons on the IP address of the camera (when you setup the camera and have it’s IP address you can browse to the camera from any desktop/mobile device on the same local network).
PRICE & VALUE
The camera itself is selling for Amazon at £69.99, compared with other IP Cameras this is a very reasonable price and is cheaper than some of the other cameras on the market. The main selling points for this AUKEY 1080P IP Camera are the night vision (automatic day/night switching), 360 degree rotation, wifi support and portable mobile-application capabilities. Overall it is well worth the money for the quality and purpose of the device.
It would have been nice to see a SD Card included, testing with a 16GB Micro-SD Card on 1080p using the 24/7 recording mode gave us approximately 16 hours worth of video recording. Each recording was around 30 minutes in length and played back fine although I would download a copy of the video to another device first as I found the inbuilt playback was a bit flaky. I would have loved to see the camera have it’s own App rather than a third party one although this doesn’t effect functionality. Overall, the product works fantastically well records a clear image where number-plates can clearly be seen if the camera was to be used for security purposes.
We would recommend you setup some form of NAS device for more recording potential, the inbuilt Micro SD card slot is perfect for motion-recording but if you want the 24/7 recording it may be better to store this on external storage!

AUKEY 1080P IP Camera
Based on the choices above, we would recommend this security camera for anyone looking to protect their property. It even works in a window, which is a great bonus and an alternative for outdoor recording.
