I thought I would review the Samsung UE40KU6400 4K Television. I had an unfortunate initial experience with this television. There was an issue where the screen would flicker on the left-side of the screen, leaving a screen delay for any blue colour. Thankfully this was resolved very quickly by the manufacturer. Since then, I can safely say I have had no further major issues. The price paid for the television was £400, this has since thankfully dropped further!
The features of the Samsung UE40KU6400 include:
- 4K Screen with HDR on HDMI1 input
- Freeview & FreeSat capability
- Applications: Spotify, Netflix, Amazon Video, Web Browser, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and many others.
- Ability to select favourite channels
- Sports Mode
- Modify the TV to natural, standard and sound from standard to movie, music.
- Two controllers, including a Samsung SMART remote
- 4 HDMI Ports
- PIP (Picture in Picture)
- 4 Spoke TV Mount
- 200 x 200 VESA Wall mount capability
This was my first experience of owning a Smart TV and having applications available with 4K capability. I do like both of the Samsung remotes and the options in the menu’s are great, which allow you to specify whether you would like the home bar to appear every time your TV is turned on. We chose to mount it to the wall, it was quite difficult to find the correct screws with the mount we bought so had to purchase some M8 50mm bolts to mount the Television correctly. The picture is clear and sound quality is also good with plenty of customisable features.

Conclusion and overall opinion:
Concluding my review, I have to admit that the television is aesthetically good looking, has a nice and easy to use user interface (UI). Having reset the television twice and experiencing a panel issue which was sorted by Samsung by replacing the screen – I still love the television. There are a few areas which could be improved because of functionality issues. These include being able to view television / HDMI without having to reselect the device after turning the television back on and having the ITV Player more functional without errors.
I would recommend this television to any reader because the software is constantly improving, updating.
